What's up!
Carter and Josh are off to Saskatoon this weekend for Co-ed provincials. Carter loved the watersliding at the hotel and is looking forward to it again this weekend. They are leaving on Friday morning though, so hope he can make it for the extra day this weekend as it did get long for him last weekend. Cohen and I will be home this weekend. I have a stagette on Saturday night and looking forward to spending some time with Cohen as I missed him last weekend.
Two weekends ago we were supposed to go to the beach with the Herback's but their kids came down with hand, foot & mouth virus. It was actually a pretty crappy weekend weather wise anyway - of course. We had seen the kids the week before so I was concerned if my boys would get it. I also found out that the babysitter's boy also had it the week she was on holidays so not sure how we escaped it twice but thankful we did as it can be nasty! Cohen got a bit of an eye infection at the end of last week but nothing that some drops aren't fixing up. He has a bit of a runny nose and cough that sounds like a bark - the only downfall of daycare - they just keep passing it around.
We registered Carter in swimming again and I think he is finally ready as he can now put his face in the water without too much freaking out - he failed the last couple times since he wouldn't. Carter starts school in just under 2 weeks - back to Ready Set Learn preschool. Not sure what he will learn this year, as I think he could go to kindergarten if he was old enough. He does need to work on his printing though and his emotional side when he can't do something perfect - gets it from his mom (emotional side that is)!
Living "L" in "XS"
I went to Saskatoon this past weekend with Carter for our Women's Provincials in slo-pitch. We started off shaky with a loss but won our next 4 games and lost in the final. Feeling a little stiff after 6 games since I only practiced a few times this year and played 2 games in Bismarck. I was okay with losing though, as we would have had to play them again and win to win the "A" side and it was already 6:30 pm on Sunday. Also we got really nice fleece zip up jackets as a prize, finally something I don't already have. Hard to believe that I am now an XS. Many of my friends have expressed concern about my drastic body changes but I feel better than I ever have physically and have more energy - much needed with 2 busy boys.
Carter did great hanging out around the ball diamond but was ready to go home by the end. Cohen stayed home with daddy as there is just so much stuff to take when you have a baby.
Unfortunately I don't blog as much as I would like to as there just doesn't seem to be enough time to fit it all in - but I will keep trying.

13 months + 2 days
Cohen turned 13 months old on Tuesday and the last 2 days just seem to have got away from me, so I finally took the time to get a couple pictures.
He is now able to stack all the rings on the holder, which I have never really seen him try to do until yesterday. The rings are heavy as they are wooden and the hole is quite small, so I am impressed with his coordination and see his determination.
He also loves to pretend he is talking on his phone just like mom and dad.
Cohen also loves to be in the action as much as possible and here is a picture of him and Carter wrestling on Carter's bed.
I can't believe how head strong he has got, as he knows what he wants and tries to communicate by grunting away. I can tell he is gonna be a handful.

The fair and the surprise
Cater is our kid with "no fear", he loved every ride at the fair and the faster and higher they went the better. He definitely doesn't take after me. My stomach was a little queasy when I went down the big slide with him.
We went to the petting zoo and let all the animals eat from his hand including a duck which almost took a bite out of his hand. The picture shows him jumping back from the duck.
His new favorite animal is snakes (my worst nightmare) and so he was excited to have one wrapped around his neck - needless to say Josh took the picture as I was nowhere near it.
The suprise party for my parents went real well except they showed up a little early - before any of the guests arrived! It was somewhat disappointing, after all the phone calls, that a few of the people who were supposed to come did not make it. However, I think the surprise guests made up for it. My Aunt & Uncle from Chicago came, one of mom's cousins from Calgary and her bridesmaid from Manitoba. They enjoyed visiting with everyone and then we had family to our house for a bbq. I think they were surprised! Mom cried lots and dad smiled lots so we know they were happy.

Busy days..
I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks between posts - while actually I can, life is just hectic these days! This week was Kaden's 5th birthday, got groceries for the party and we took Carter to the fair, every night there seems to be something going on.
My stomach flu was about 24 hours - thank gosh and no one got it real bad. However, the next Saturday - I think a combination of too much exercise, sun and tummy trouble threw Carter for a loop. He bounced back quick too though. Cohen may have been fighting a slight case, as he just wasn't eating quite like himself - usually everything in sight or within a mile! Great news about Cohen his cystic hygroma (growth on his neck) has really shrunk this last week so we are hoping it will continue to go away on it's own and avoid any invasive procedures.
I continue to be busy prepping and planning for my parents SURPRISE 50th wedding anniversary - it seems to have consumed my life these days (making lists, thank you cards, stealing photo albums, phone calls, sending out reminders and shopping). I will be so happy tomorrow when it is all over so I can relax - keeping a secret has been stressful in itself. There have been so many times when I almost slipped and I think my parents are kind of choked we have not really mentioned doing anything for them. They will be surprised. We are hoping to have about 40 people attend and even my Aunt & Uncle from Chicago made it, without them knowing. After the come & go celebration, we are hosting a family bbq so that was a whole other event to prep for. However, I would do it all over again as I have the most amazing parents who would do anything for us and deserve a wonderful 50th celebration, as well as their 70th and 75th birthdays this coming week.
