Family day weekend!
We sold the crib on Used Regina this weekend, realizing that the bed currently was sleeping in was the crib mattress so upgraded him to his mate's bed. Below is the new mattress he was testing out from the 5th stair - luckily it had good bounce and cushion. He is quite the daredevil! He has not fallen out of the new bed as we were worried with no side rail anymore but it is a twin bed now so much wider - fingers crossed there is no thud in the night as it is a long way down, he almost needs a boost to get in!

Family day started off with a skate at the rink behind our house. Cohen typically just wants to be in his boots so he can play hockey but actually did a few laps with Josh and the "blue pusher thingy" - whatever its called.

After naps and lunch we headed to the Southland for the mini carnival - they had ring toss, basketball, air hockey, monster head knock down, ladybug plinko, magnet darts, popcorn and balloons - all for a small donation to the Radiothon. Carter took money from his piggy bank to donate as they did fundraising for this in preschool so he knows all about "saving babies lives".

Fun was had by all and family day ended by watching the Bee Movie!

Valentines day and activities....
Probably similar to most other married couples with busy kids, we each took a kid and went our separate ways to activities - Cohen to gynmastics and Carter to tennis.

It was Carter's last class for this session and the parents got to play so really sorry I missed it as tennis is a passion of mine and hopefully some day I will find myself on the court playing Carter. Josh says he did good and they won most of the competitions - our little man in very competitive not sure where he gets that from!
After missing two classes, Cohen did great at gymnastics as I noticed a huge difference in his abilities from the prior weeks. He is going alone with the teacher so learning his independence. He is now talking up a storm and trying to tell stories - so cute at this age! We were worried he was never going to talk, now I'm worried if he will ever stop!
Gymnastics practice in the basement. Carter after a number of tries mastered the head stand and is able to get up all by himself - he just had to find his "abs" to pull himself up!

School days .......
Carter had his first real school project for 100 day. They are celebrating their 100th day of school on Tuesday, so they were assigned a project to somehow represent 100. We used 100 can tabs to outline his favorite Pokemon character Pikachu. I drew it in pencil, then he outlined and colored it, we glued on the tabs together. The first of many projects to come!
Carter's class did a play for the grade 3's and Carter got the starring role, as the gingerbread man. He recited a few of his parts for me and did wonderfully. We are so proud what a leader he is in his class and that his teacher realizes it and tries to challenge him in different ways.
Josh took Cohen to see his preschool on Friday. Carter went too as it is the same one he went to for 2 years and so he got to see Ms. Julie. He showed Cohen around while Josh chatted. Cohen seems excited about "my school" so hope he is still that excited this fall when he starts! His vocabulary has improved significantly in the past couple weeks, we can even talk on the phone now and he is starting to tell little stories - I love this stage!
