Celebrations all around...

Josh has been in BC all week for hockey and so it has been me and the kids. We made it through with flying colors (lots of help from grandma of course). The start of the week was a little shaky as I think I had the stomach flu so took the kids to the sitters and came back home to bed for the morning, which is not something I could normally do. Still feel not that great but not bad enough to slow down. The kids were cooperative and very good on the most part. Will be happy to have help home tomorrow.

We had Carter's 5th "kid" birthday party and all went well. I opted for not inviting his whole preschool class (20 kids) like others have done and let him have just a few close friends. They had a blast at It's a Blast with lots of running around, some popcorn, cake and presents - what more could a 5 year old ask for.

He decided on a Sponge Bob cake so grandma and I made it the night before (up til 11:30) but it turned out good and Carter really liked it.

Growing up so fast...

Cohen turned 22 months just a couple days ago. (Late as ever with the post but to my defense, the blog was down for 2 days). His vocabulary is ever expanding - bubbles, slide, mine, me, no (of course), nose, eyes and dooey is a favorite. We are working on colors these days - he can say blue and now yellow. He loves to be outside just like his mom, wagon rides and going to the park. He also loves to climb and get into things or should I say everything - he has so many bruises and scrapes, we can hardly keep count - a true boy I guess. We have not weighed or measured him lately but think he has stayed around the same now that he is much more active.

Helping in the flower bed - throwing dirt!

Enjoying an icing coated cupcake.

Carter went to bereavement camp at Dallas Valley Ranch for the weekend. He was very nervous about going and did not want to stay overnight so we had planned on driving him back and forth each night and morning. We had him meet a couple of the ladies that I had been going to bereavement counselling with and were going to be at camp. On Friday when grandma dropped him off to take the bus out, he saw the girls and he told her that she could go as he didn't need her anymore. He must be having a wonderful time as it is Saturday night and we have not heard from him yet. Now we are the one's wishing he was coming home.
